Anito: Defend a Land Enraged

Two completely similar, quite classic in form, but atypical in content, role-playing films with ethnic color suddenly fell upon PC users: Blade & Sword takes the player to the world of legends of Ancient China, and Anito, being the product of the authors, definitely originates from somewhere in the Pacific Islands – it unfolds a bizarre fantasy based on a mixture of local legends and historical events related to the colonization of this piece of the world (most likely, the Spaniards – but at the same time, on the other hand, most likely, China).

The persistence of developers around the world in the steady repetition of one and the same pattern makes us directly suggest the existence of a whole army of gamers on the planet who are addicted to one certain type of product: dynamic Diablo-style RPG. Propagated in a wide variety of manifestations: from the boldly-almost-no-arcade Lionheart to the epic proportions of Divine Divinity – we propose now to be considered electronic drugs, because who would want to play them in their right mind, in a world filled with much more interesting virtual universes?

Anito, by and large, is a classic clone. There is a “main game view” where you control your single character (some difference is that it is controlled not with the mouse, but directly from the keyboard using the WSAD method, which at first is fun, but quickly annoying – because you have to put aside a sandwich every time, when you need to move a meter to the side).

It is built from predominantly two-dimensional hand-drawn components mixed with separate three-dimensional objects (and it would be better if they were not, to be honest – because if they are not ugly, then at least close to this). There is a classic set from the magazine, map, screen of the character’s things and his various characteristics (naturally, there is also improvement as the experience is gained).

You will not be abandoned at the beginning of the game: a sufficiently detailed tutorial will tell you in an interactive way how to navigate and navigate, how to inspect objects and personalities and act on them. How to fight with melee weapons, remote and fight back with a shield. How to apply special abilities and “magic”.

In the worst traditions of “supporting lifelike”, you will be explained the technology of using two objects on top of each other to prepare a third one: for example, touching a fish with a fish turns it into a “fish steak”, which will be served with a “lemon-honey mixture” seasoning ( ah, simple islet life :)). Local alchemy also involves making healthy drinks.

The plot that begins after this with a detective bias (your father and local leader suddenly disappears (and by the way you can play as a man or a very pretty girl) – fully demonstrates to you that the game involves a huge number of dialogs and a full program of collecting information (and the critical, naturally, bit by bit drowned in the “multi-use.”) Which, of course, contributes to the atmosphere, favors the acquisition of original knowledge … but still an activity for an amateur, and it would be better if at least part of the invested sy and efforts redirected at one time to create a more exciting combat system.

What are the advantages that distinguishes the game from others, and why is it worth it — if it is worth it — to be distracted by it at all? The most important thing is, of course, the surroundings. Curved daggers, bamboo-wooden armor, the energy of the chakras – all this is a rather colorful alternative to the “long swords +1”, “leather jacket” and the magic missail (although in fact the difference is small) 🙂 But there are also very peculiar original ones opponents. And also the fact that with the imagination and common sense, at least the guys were all right – they created their world carefully and thoughtfully. And not from scratch – based on conflicts that had once taken place. Compared to the next, “monsters are defeating our village” and “huge rats filled the basement” – a nice contrast.

Bottom line: if you belong to the cohort of obsessed with us today, whose existence depends on the daily share of adventures of the same type, or for some other strange reason, love games of this kind – it’s worth trying Anito, it has an original taste. If you do not experience such addictions, you can safely ignore the game in your procurement plans, it does not carry anything beyond its genre. Especially as much as two discs.
