Impressions of the game – and it comes out for both the PC and the Xbox (and the influence of the Xbox on this game is obvious) – turned out to be twofold. On the one hand, she perfectly beats her brutally epic entourage into that niche that should have been occupied by the so ingloriously slipping into the niche of “regular shooters” Warhammer 40.000: Fire Warrior. The megalomaniac plot, spectacular characters, a sense of power and scale simply overwhelm the initial screensavers. The game that began, left the first impressions of flickering chaos and a dank primitive imperfection, clearly unworthy of the good name Konami. However, if you play a little more, the severity of both positive and negative will decrease, the sensations will mix and fuse into a rather interesting cocktail.

Apocaliptyca is a game that you need to get used to in order to love.
The plot, indeed, is entertaining. Promises to this kind of surroundings are made in computer games regularly, but in order to arrange this in such a direct form – this has never happened. It is declared that in the distant starry future, the war of good and evil, traditionally clothed in hidden forms on Earth so far, has spread to all the worlds conquered by mankind and has taken the form, so to speak, obvious. Neo-Satan’s warships plow through space, and loyal to “good” people are quite physically fighting completely materialized “creatures of evil.” Here, by the way, the game’s hidden humor is manifested – each character of the world is opposed to a practically similar “figure of darkness” (if only they fight in the multiplayer), which really leads to thoughts more about a chess game between two opponents than about “cleansing the world from filth and so on, “and it is precisely with this pathos that the messages that warn you to battle are imbued with something. Although – let’s be honest – our fathers-commanders look quite realistic, and in our game life we ​​had the opportunity to observe briefings and more sentiments.

In general, you are a participant in practically the Last Hope Campaign. For people manage to resist badly, defeat is not far off. It turns out that you need to bang Satan, no more no less (Neo-Satan, of course :)). Why the group of military heroes of mankind decided to use the newly created super-soldiers – one of which you are. Why super-soldiers are sent to missions in small groups, rather than massive armies, let us leave the game to the conscience, but this is the case. You personally and a partner or two – that’s who in the best traditions, after many attempts, will save humanity. You have to visit Jerusalem V (many different things in the game are called biblically associated names, “to sound louder” and to maintain the atmosphere), recapture your ship SS Ariziel, fight on board the enemy “Sun Eater”, visit Nu-Hades ( dead ex-earth) – and, finally, go down to the underworld.

In this case, the characters, no doubt, are worthy of competition with the most brutal personalities from the Warhammer universe (unless, of course, we take into account the warhammer giant robots that have no equal yet in the fantasy universe). The hierarchs of the military units of the Church and their assistants look alive embodiment of power and wisdom, symbolism and designs are incomparable. Your own characters (and you can choose one of sixteen to complete the game) are impressive: the Holy Sisters, dressed in robotic erotic combat armor; monstrously voluminous, armored quadratic forms of the Knights-Paladins; the elegant Angels of Perdition soaring on energy wings; finally, perverted forms – more mobile-flexible than heavy-fighting Robots of Good 🙂 They are not far behind them, by the way, and their “colleagues of the dark side” – the same Vampires, Knights of Darkness, Soaring Beasts and Evil Robots (classes in no way called in the original, this is a free interpretation of impressions) – unfortunately, you can only enjoy them in multiplayer.

Sixteen heroes are divided into four categories with four choices in each – that is, four robots, four knights, and so on. Each of the heroes has four parameters – Agility (warriors are distinguished by it), Melee (the main parameter of knights), Shooting (robots specialize in it), and finally Spells (exclusive to angels). Four representatives of one category – quite significantly differing in appearance – vary slightly in terms of the set of indicators (one of the knights, for example, can do almost nothing except very serious pumping of the sword – and the others, say, are somewhat more universal). The game for each category is significantly different from one another, each of the categories dictates its own style, based on the features of the game system.

And it is really quite unique – the authors of the concept came up with a glorious compilation, up to the present moment in such a complete form it seems that it was clearly not used anywhere on the PC: why would the main character, instead of constantly changing weapons, simply not carry in the left hand something shooting.
