Secret Weapons over Normandy

Armed and Dangerous

I want to declare with all responsibility – in front of you is a shooter, absolutely no other shooter. A game with an original performance and great powerful humor. A real indisputable hit.
And it is precisely with humor that one wants to start: and let some of the moments revealed by us slightly spoil the pleasure of the first meeting on our own, but we hope that they will attract the attention of someone who in a different situation would have passed this wonderful game. The humor here is just what convinced gamers, and generally all sensible people, just lack in an increasingly smoothed and unified Western world: straightforward, sharp, creative, unusual, lively, bordering on absurdity at times … in general, it was right said: “overly sensitive gamers can hurt.”

Humor begins already in the most frivolous, reckless, untidy mood of the game itself, where a gang of cool kids called Lionhearts decides to take an artifact of infinite power called the Book of Rules from the local King Forge (of course, with his help the king was going to rule the world). It happens in a funny world where pastoral, fairy-tale-fantasy motifs are combined with the wonders of “steam technology” (also in a somewhat “toy”, grotesquely-light version – in addition, technology, inherently present, does not occupy a significant place in the overall game aesthetics) .

Let me introduce you: Roman, the leader of the “gang” and your main game character, known for his mastery of a wide variety of weapons (melee fights occupy a very insignificant place in this game, so the weapon is mainly long-range). The novel looks like someone in between a desert warrior, a conqueror of the Arctic and a cowboy – while he does not show off and speaks in a practically normal voice (while all the other characters are actively using a variety of accents and other types of voice games). Johnsy, the human-like talking mole – he looks very much like a “mole” from Disney Atlantis, also a “miner”, carries a flashlight on his forehead, and in his hands a pair of long-barreled revolvers. And she dresses very warmly 🙂 But Kew does not need clothes at all, because he is a huge silver robot one and a half human height. However, aesthetic feelings are also not alien to him, and he poses with the help of a strangely turned plume and a tattered cloak – a parody of a Roman legionnaire adjusted for Don Quixote (all the more so since the goals of the company of friends are completely Robingudian). Kew shoots well from his futuristic trunk, muzzles captured enemies on the ground no worse than in cartoons, but the main thing, perhaps, is his dignity – restoring health tea, which he loves very much and which he generously treats his friends (it can be very useful in battle )

The fourth member of the team does not participate in fights, but is a key plot character – this is the blind little mystic Rexus, a favorite of flies (because an intolerable stink comes from him). It is precisely after him that the rest of the heroes come to his secluded Arctic home when they become aware of the king’s plans to use Rexus to master the secrets of the Book (he was at one time its keeper until he accidentally lost it). To convince the old man to follow them on an adventure, with the goal of stealing a book, is possible only after the heroes pull him out of the enemy prison. Because he doesn’t really believe in the success of the event, and besides, who will take care of his guide dogs (which in fact have long been secret in the form of ice statues near a mountain of frozen ham). But there’s nothing to do in such a scenario, an attack is the best defense and the heroes go on a campaign designed in the form of a linear sequence of linear missions – where the salvation of the whole world is interspersed with passing “side quests” to protect the population from the brutal army of the dictator 🙂

Agree, a good team to work with the jesters 🙂 You will have to have a lot of fun – if the replicas that are released during the battle are not masterpieces of slander, but what does it cost, for example, such weapons as the “underground shark”: launched in the direction of the target, it floats underground like under water, demonstrating its beautiful and at the same time formidable fin, and now and then it arises from under the surface, like a Worm from a dune, swallowing another enemy. Another weapon, absurdly ridiculous – resembles a giant corkscrew. On command for use, it turns into the ground … turning the world upside down: heroes hang on this crazy car, while enemies “fall into the sky”, falling back a few seconds later (naturally, to die) 🙂 It’s not that you all the time you’ll have to fight with such things, or other varieties of “balloons and apple bits” – but such manifestations of “crazyness” do not allow you to become too serious and keep a smiling mood 🙂

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising
The single-player campaign is represented only by the cooperative regime and, to be honest, is of little interest. Bots on both sides behave tolerably (at least better than the enemies…
