Homeworld 2

From the first steps it becomes obvious that the subject to which the developers focused on is graphics. The policy is absolutely correct: everyone who makes a game about space should make sure that the space looks good – the audience loves to look at something, but there isn’t so much in the open space. As a result, the only thing you can find fault with is the background, which should portray “the grandiose objects of the local solar system against the backdrop of the greatness of the vast expanse of space.” The “objects” were made beautifully, sometimes majestically: colossal and not very planets, burning luminaries, mysterious nebulae, titanic fragments of structures of artificial origin (it’s clear that half of the “natural cosmic phenomena” in real nature do not occur in reality, being simply decorative fiction ) Alas, due to the fact that they are painted and pasted “on the back wall of the Universe” – some of them look too blurry and fuzzy. You still cannot come close to them due to the specific features of the game Continue reading

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising

The single-player campaign is represented only by the cooperative regime and, to be honest, is of little interest. Bots on both sides behave tolerably (at least better than the enemies in Alpha Black Zero: Intrepid Protocol and Marine Heavy Gunner: Vietnam combined), but they can not be compared with a living thinking person.

But multiplayer polished to a shine. Despite a number of intersections of the game concept with the already famous hits in the face of Battlefield 1942 and Unreal Tournament 2004, Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is distinctive enough to boldly reject all attempts to call it a clone. First of all, the game offers unlike larger-scale actions. Up to 150 people on a server is a figure from the field of Massively Multiplayer Online-projects rather than ordinary team actions. Battle for Troy

The Battle of Troy is a cute little strategic game based on the notorious Trojan War, when the Greeks clashed with the Trojans, and in the center of the conflict was “the most beautiful mortal woman.” The game is really very nice, simple, so bright – designed, of course, for a simple fan for ordinary citizens, and not for the exquisite entertainment of seasoned strategists. And in her weight category she can only be blamed for one thing, perhaps the drawback is the lack of elementary multiplayer 🙂 If he had – there would have been an ideal “strategy light” in general, in which bored secretaries, for example, could play each other another 🙂 And it’s not very successful, it’s not so easy to fight against scripts and computer intelligence.
